Average guy.
Above-average
boat parts.

I build boats, break boats and film all of it. Everything in this shop is stuff I actually run: jack plates, custom hatches, wheels and the parts that fail on a Saturday.

About the shop

Built by a boat builder, not a warehouse.

Average Boat Guy is run by Matt Henriksen and the crew at Henriksen Boat Designs, the New Jersey shop behind the Core series flat-bottom tunnel-hull skiffs.

We rig boats every week and we're an authorized Mercury Marine dealer, so every part here is something we'd put on our own boats. Questions about fit? You'll get an answer from someone who's actually installed it.

👋 Who's the guy?

Just an average
boat guy.

I'm Matt. I build boats in South Jersey, rig them, run them hard and film what happens. New builds, boat ideas, mods and the occasional disaster. If it's in this shop, it's been on one of my boats.
